Adam Milstein- Blazing the Trail in Philanthropy and Real Estate Development

Adam Milstein is one of the leading real estate investors in the United States but who is probably better known for his philanthropic work than for his acute business acumen. He currently serves as the Managing Partner at Hager Pacific Properties, a real estate investment firm with vast interests in the US and particularly in Southern California. But how did he really get here and what exactly has he been doing to help those less fortunate than him?
Road to success
Adam Milstein was born in Haifa, Israel, in 1954 at a time when the country was struggling to overcome mountains of challenges. Most of his early life was spent in Kiryat Motzkin until he joined the Israeli Defense forces in 1971, serving in the Yom Kippur War under the command of Ariel Sharon who was later to become the country’s prime minister. In the post war years, he went back to school and obtained a bachelors degree in Business and Economics from Technion and later married his wife Gila Elgrably before they both moved to the US in 1981 and to know more
In the US, Adam Milstein pursued his studies at the University of Southern California from where he eventually graduated with a Masters Degree in Business Administration. After that he later joined Hager Pacific Properties where he honed and mastered his real estate skills eventually rising through the ranks to become the company’s managing partner decades since he first joined it.
Philanthropy
Adam Milstein says that he was first introduced to philanthropy by a business partner at Hager who taught him about a Jewish practice in which individuals donate 10 percent of their incomes to charity. In 2000, he and his wife jointly started to foundations that they still run to date; the Sifriyat Pijama B’ America and the Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation. Between the two foundations, Adam Milstein has consistently managed to raise and donate $1 million to charity every year.
In addition to the above, Adam Milstein was at the core of the foundation of the Israeli- American Council in 2007. This organization is dedicated to improving the ties between Israelis living in America and those back at home as well as ties between the Israel as a country and America.
