George Soros Empower Democrats

One of the most spectacular things that has ever occurred in the history of the world was the American Revolution. The difference between this revolution and all the others that preceded it was the idea that if they won, they would instill a government that would be truly run by the people. This, of course, was the birth of the Democratic Republic. Democracy has continued to be spread through the world by many people. One modern-day advocate for democracy is the philanthropist George Soros.

George Soros is a billionaire who uses his vast fortune to promote democracies around the world. This is accomplished by using his nonprofit organization which is known as the Open Society Foundations. The Open Society Foundations, under the leadership George Soros, has made it their personal mission to empower and embolden these fledgling democratic governments and help them gain a foot in the world. Because of this nonprofit, over 100 countries have been able to establish some form of democracy as their government system.

George Soros has donated hundreds of billions of dollars through his Open Society Foundations in order to help these governments get a head start. He has been known to fund education systems, electoral processes, and women’s rights movements.

While George Soros does keep his eyes abroad, he has begun donating money here at home in order to make sure that democracy in the United States never dies. George Soros would begin turning his attention to America in the year 2004. The year 2004 had been a tumultuous one for the United States. The United States had already suffered the terrorist attacks of 9/11, and we were then embroiled in a war with two different countries, Iraq and Afghanistan. George Soros was fearful of what would happen to this great country if it continued to be led by the Republicans.

George Soros would attempt to stop Republicans in 2004 by financially backing Democratic candidate John Kerry. In order to help John Kerry gain in the polls, Soros donated to him $27 million. This money proved insufficient to push Kerry hard enough and in that election year President George W. Bush remained the president.

Soros would have a much easier time in 2008. The American people had grown fed up with the GOP and its warmongering ways. As it appeared that the landscape of America was ready for a change, George Soros began to decide which candidate he thought would best bring liberal policies and enforce a democratic rule here in America. He originally wanted to back Hillary Clinton ut bdecided that Barack Obama will be the better choice.

After Barack Obama’s successful presidency George Soros would back Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. When he found out the DNC was nearly bankrupt and unable to continue, he donated $25 million to pay off the Democratic Party’s debts and help Clinton thrive. Though Hillary Clinton would receive the popular vote, it would be Donald Trump who would win the electoral college.

Generosity comes easy:

For Betsy, it does not hurt her to give back like it might to others. She was brought up a giver, a trait that few people in this world have and, have a hard time developing. Having donated to millions of people, it safe to assume that Betsy has earned the right to brag and boast about it, yet she chooses to stay humble and work to make a change in the world. Through her philanthropy and kind heart, Betsey is an inspiration and a role model to many.

Betsy DeVos’ Battle for Education Reform Just Got Better

My name is Betsy DeVos. I am the eleventh Education Secretary in the new cabinet constituted by the President, Donald Trump. I have been at the forefront of education reform in this country. I got into politics back in college, and I have never looked back. I have been in charge of political campaigns and party organizations for over thirty years. I have been elected as the Chairperson of the Republican Party in Michigan numerous times.

Politics is in our family. Dick DeVos, my husband, ran for the Governor of Michigan position in 2006. I adopt a solutions-based approach to business and politics. This enables me to find answers to social problems. I have also worked as the Chairperson of the Windquest Group. This is a private holding company that I co-founded with my husband in 1989. The firm has interests in manufacturing, clean energy, and technology.

My husband has served as the President of Amway as well as President of the famous Orlando Magic basketball team. I am an ardent advocate of reform. I pursue these goals through various non-profits. I have also served as the Chairperson of the Dick and Betsy DeVos Family Foundation. This is an umbrella body that supports non-profits and other groups whose values are aligned with us.

As you can see, my leadership efforts speak for themselves. I have worked on the board of the DeVos Institute of Arts Management at the Kennedy Center. I am also associated with Foundation for Excellence in Education as well as other organizations such as the Mars Hill Bible Church. I came into the spotlight as a firebrand advocate of reform in the education sector. I oversee the American Federation for Children.

I am increasingly optimistic about achieving policy change that offers parents a say in the education they provide their children. The education reform movement is gaining momentum. We are making tremendous headway in increasing public awareness on the matter. My family’s interest in education reform started at a local school. Before long, I was supporting low-income families through a scholarship fund.

I quickly realized I needed to do more. I joined national charities advocating for education reform. I was also instrumental in passing legislation supporting charter schools in Michigan in 1993. There are numerous families in the state looking for better education alternatives. In 2001, I embarked on advocating for education reform through the political leadership system and political action committees. My success informed the decision to scale the project to a national level.

I am passionate about giving. I have served on the Philanthropy Roundtable board. I have previously held leadership positions at various organizations. These include the Great Lakes Education Project, The Potter’s House School, ArtPrize and Alliance for School Choice. I am optimistic about the use of technology to create choice, improve participation in learning and create comprehensive global libraries.

Dick DeVos Is A Businessman Involved In Politics Too

Dick DeVos is a highly successful businessman who is involved in the world politics too. Dick DeVos along with his wife have both spent a lot of money in lobbying for a number of conservative issues. These include school vouchers, the right to work legislation and much more.

Dick DeVos comes from a rich background. He is the son of Richard DeVos, whose net worth is approximate $5.1 billion. Richard DeVos is the founder of Amway which is a multi-level marketing company.

Dick DeVos had started working in Amway during the 70s. It was in 1984 that he became its Vice-President. Another source of wealth for Richard DeVos’ is sports. He owns the Orlando Magic basketball team, which he bought in 1991. Dick DeVos was appointed as the president and CEO of this team. Later on, he became the president of Amway. He left it after two years in order to work with his own firm, The Windquest Group. This is an investment management company.

He entered the political arena by being the Republican nominee as he stood for the 2006 election for the governor of Michigan. During this campaign, he spoke about the issues of jobs and economy. He said that he would be making the state friendlier for doing business. This would be achieved by cutting taxes as well as regulations. He pointed to his business experience to ensure people that he can get this done. But he was easily defeated by his rival, Granholm who won the election by 14 percentage points.

Dick DeVos along with his wife, Betsy DeVos are advocating private school vouchers. They have already spent millions of dollars while lobbying for this issue.

It was in 1993 that Dick DeVos and his wife became the co-chairs of the Education Freedom Fund. It is a fund that is giving scholarships to various low-income families in Michigan. This way it allows them to attend a private school as per their own choice.

He has been working towards providing parents the opportunity of choosing a school and sending their child to it.

Another political issue that is close to Dick DeVos is the right-to-work laws. He strongly supports laws that are allowing employees to work without being forced to join any union. Obviously, the unions are strongly opposing this.

Dick DeVos organized a campaign in Michigan in 2012. This was for passing the right-to-work law. He spent $1.75 million in order to fight against the unions. He backed Protecting Michigan Taxpayers and spent nearly $23 million on this campaign. Ultimately Michigan Governor Rick Snyder had to give in. He enacted legislation that banned any mandatory union membership. Michigan is the 24th state in the US to do so.
